Ripley and Lauderdale County have numerous civic groups, clubs and organizations working for improved quality of life and more opportunities. Lauderdale County has an active Arts Council who provides cultural enrichment activities throughout the year.
Many annual events are held throughout the community. A few of these are:
Lauderdale County Tomato Festival - held annually the weekend following the 4th of July; pays tribute to the famous tomato growers of Lauderdale County; features rides, food, crafts, entertainment, beauty pageants and much more.
Adult & Youth Leadership Programs - Leadership programs are held annually for both adults and youth. The youth program caters to high school juniors. Each program 1asts for six months and covers a variety of information about our county.
Choctaw Indian Festival - this festival is held in late October and is located on the 160' acre Indian reservation owned by the Choctaws in Henning.
Golf Tournaments - there are numerous golf tournaments in the county throughout the year.
Relay for Life - this annual event brings the entire community together to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Lauderdale County continues to lead the state in dollars raised.
Ripley Merchants Spring Fling - sponsored by the Ripley Merchants Assoc., held on the square in downtown Ripley each spring. Arts, crafts, food and fun
Pops in the Park - Sponsored by the Arts Council features the Germantown Symphony and invites residents to bring a picnic dinner and enjoy the music and fellowship
Halls Street Festival - sponsored by the Town of Halls and held downtown. Held in June of each year and features, entertainment, food, arts, crafts and more
Lauderdale County Fair - the newest of our annual events, this county fair is held the last weekend of September at the Halls Airbase and features a carnival, food, exhibits, livestock, crafts, entertainment and much more.

City of Ripley Park
The City of Ripley is proud to have a 50-acre park with lighted tennis courts, six pavilions, four multipurpose fields, open areas for picnicking, a walking track, several playgrounds, volleyball area, weight training equipment, and a swimming pool with three slides. There is also a full-service fitness center just across the road.
